![]() | Pavlo Tarasyuk, the chairman of the Ukrainian Youth Sobor Vital credo: Imperare sibi maximum imperium est («Power over Oneself is the Highest Power», lat.). He was born in 1986 in Kyiv. In 2002 he graduated from Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi Ukrainian College with honors, in 2006 from the Department of Law (presently – the Department of Law) of Kyiv International University and obtained the diploma certificate of the Bachelor in Law with honors. In 2008 he completed the Master’s program of the same University with honors. Since 2001 he’s been engaged in the public activity and has been publishing its papers in the printed mass media. Since 2003 he’s been the copy editor in charge of the publication of the party newspaper of the URP Sobor, Independent Ukraine. From January 2005 to June 2006 he’s been working at the Publishing House Ukrainian Media Group as a political observer, publishing editor, and deputy general director. Now he is an assistant adviser of the National Deputy of Ukraine, a public servant. He’s been taking an active part in carrying out of five election campaigns to the public authorities of various levels. He’s been the member of the Ukrainian Republican Party (URP) Sobor since April 2004. Deputy director of URP Sobor (since December 2008). He’s been participating in the Ukrainian Youth Sobor (UYS) since May 2004. From July 2004 to February 2005 he had been the member of the presidium of the Central board of UYS, and from February 2005 to July 2006 he’d been the deputy director of UYS for ideology. From July to September 2006 he has been an acting director of UYS. By resolution of the 4th Session of the Youth Synod of September 30, 2006 he was elected the organization chairman. On September 27, 2008 at the 5th scheduled Session by resolution of secret vote he’s been reelected to the Ukrainian Youth Sobor for two more years. |

Leading experts on foreign policy and security - former Deputy Secretary of State of the USA and President of the Brookings Institution Strobe Talbott and former High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union (1999-2009) and Secretary General of NATO (1995-1999) Javier Solana – visited Kyiv on 31 March 2010. These leading international policy makers participated in public debates organized by the Yalta European Strategy (YES) and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
Anna Zakletska-Burak, the Vice-President of the Ukrainian Youth SOBOR in charge of the external relations, represented the organization on the annual “Young Leaders Meeting”, held on the 15th – 18th of October in Aachen, Germany.
On the 30th of March pupils of Kiev school №2 launched into the space almost 200 smiles. The school children drew their smiles on the multicolored balloons and set them free synchronously after the call “One, two, three, set your smile free!”. The action, organized by the Kiev City Organization of the Ukrainian Youth SOBOR got the name “The Express of Smiles”.
The UYS presidium member Dmytro Masliak was elected as an attorney of the Youth Sobor for external relations. The relevant resolution was passed by the organizations presidium. Therefore now Dmytro Masliak is obliged to establish and supervise relations with international organizations and funds and to reinforce interaction with them.
On Friday, February 13, in the Museum of the Ukrainian folk decorative art (in the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra) there took place a theatricalized fashion show The Feast is Coming! The collection included 24 stylized clothes with bright ethnic elements and futuristic trends reminding the creative works of Maria Pryimachenko. All works were prepared by the students of M. Boychuk State Institute of Decorative Applied Arts and Design of Kyiv. «The clothes created by these students deserves being presented at the fashion weeks. It is remarkable for its expressed ethnic motives combine with modern femininity», says the production director of this show, scriptwriter Anna Zakletska.
