  • Anna Zakletska-Burak took part in a public discussion with Xavier Solana -

    Leading experts on foreign policy and security - former Deputy Secretary of State of the USA and President of the Brookings Institution Strobe Talbott and former High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union (1999-2009) and Secretary General of NATO (1995-1999) Javier Solana – visited Kyiv on 31 March 2010. These leading international policy makers participated in public debates organized by the Yalta European Strategy (YES) and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

  • Anna Zakletska-Burak represented Ukraine on “Young Leaders Meeting” in Germany -

    Anna Zakletska-Burak, the Vice-President of the Ukrainian Youth SOBOR in charge of the external relations, represented the organization on the annual “Young Leaders Meeting”, held on the 15th – 18th of October in Aachen, Germany.

  • The “EXPRESS OF SMILES” has started in Kiev -

    On the 30th of March pupils of Kiev school №2 launched into the space almost 200 smiles. The school children drew their smiles on the multicolored balloons and set them free synchronously after the call “One, two, three, set your smile free!”. The action, organized by the Kiev City Organization of the Ukrainian Youth SOBOR got the name “The Express of Smiles”.

  • Dmytro Masliak was elected as the UYS attorney for external relations -

    The UYS presidium member Dmytro Masliak was elected as an attorney of the Youth Sobor for external relations. The relevant resolution was passed by the organizations presidium. Therefore now Dmytro Masliak is obliged to establish and supervise relations with international organizations and funds and to reinforce interaction with them.

  • With assistance of Kyiv municipal organization of UYS in Kyiv there took place a fashion show in ethnic style -

    On Friday, February 13, in the Museum of the Ukrainian folk decorative art (in the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra) there took place a theatricalized fashion show The Feast is Coming! The collection included 24 stylized clothes with bright ethnic elements and futuristic trends reminding the creative works of Maria Pryimachenko. All works were prepared by the students of M. Boychuk State Institute of Decorative Applied Arts and Design of Kyiv. «The clothes created by these students deserves being presented at the fashion weeks. It is remarkable for its expressed ethnic motives combine with modern femininity», says the production director of this show, scriptwriter Anna Zakletska.

UYS states the new facts of infringement of the human rights in Belarus

This time the leader of the oppositional youth movement Youth of Belarus National Front, Franak Vyachorka, is endangered. In view of this fact the Ukrainian Youth Synod addresses to the Embassy of Belarus in Ukraine with a relevant statement.

Chairman of Kyiv UYS Artem Stelmashov represented Ukraine at the Global Youth Forum

The chairman of Kyiv municipal organization of PPO Ukrainian Youth Sobor Artem Stelmashov represented Ukraine at the Global Youth Forum in Gdansk and greeted the leader of Polish Solidarity Lech Valensa with the 25th anniversary of awarding him the Noble Prize for Peace.

The forum in Gdansk gathered 800 youth leaders from 44 countries of the world. They received a unique opportunity to meet the other laureates of the Noble Prize for Peace – Dalai-Lama the 14th, Adolfo Peres Esqivel, Frederic Will de Clerk and Shyrine Ebadi.

Young European Liberals See Ukraine in the EU

More than 200 young politicians from 45 countries of the world will discuss the economic slowdown and relations with Russia in Kyiv

From the 5th till the 7th of December the global meeting of the Federation of Young Liberals (IFLRY) will take place in Ukraine. Besides foreign participants who will come from the whole Europe, the USA and even Philippines, several dozens of political and public Ukrainian activists will also participate in the forum. They will be discussing the most pressing issues – the global economic slowdown problems, relations between Russia and Ukraine, Parliamentary elections in Ukraine, and perspectives of Ukraine’s accession to NATO and European Union. How young European politicians can help us in solving these issues, The Day asked the chairman of the pan-Ukrainian public organization Ukrainian Youth Sobor, Pavlo Tarasiuk.

Ukrainian Youth Sobor was accepted to the European Liberal Youth

The pan-Ukrainian public organization Ukrainian Youth Sobor (UYS) officially joined on of the biggest youth unions – the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC). At the recent meeting of the organization in Brussels the UYS obtained an applicant membership in LYMEC.

It is very important that LYMEC acts for expansion of the European Union and for consolidation of the western and Eastern Europe. Therefore, the Ukrainian Youth Synod can join the process of Ukraine’s accession to the EU, noted the chairman of the UYS Pavlo Tarasiuk.
